Transforming Race: Visions of Change – hosted by the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity held March 15-17, 2012 in Columbus, Ohio – 500+ advocates, researchers, community leaders, activists, policymakers, students and just-plain-folks will offer thoughtful and provocative answers to these and related questions.

Featured speakers include:
Van Jones a globally recognized, award-winning pioneer in human rights and the clean-energy economy. Senior fellow at the Center For American Progress, best-selling author, and former green jobs advisor in the Obama White House.
Lynn Manning an award winning poet, playwright, actor, and former World Champion of blind judo. He has had upwards of a dozen plays produced. His autobiographical, solo play, “Weights,” received three NAACP Theater awards in 2001, including Best actor for Lynn.
Vandana Shivais a world-renowned environmental leader, ecofeminist, activist and thinker. Director of the Research Foundation on Science, Technology, and Ecology, she is the author of many books including Earth Democracy: Justice, Sustainability and Peace (South End Press, 2005), Water Wars: Pollution, Profits, and Privatization (South End Press, 2011), Biopiracy: The Plunder of Nature and Knowledge (South End Press, 1997), Monocultures of the Mind (Zed, 1993), The Violence of the Green Revolution (Zed, 1992), and Staying Alive (St. Martin’s Press, 1989).
