Justice Ginsburg to address National Conference on Citizenship

April 26, 2010
“My mother told me two things constantly. One was to be a lady and the other was to be independent, and the law was something most unusual for those times because for most girls growing up in the ’40s, the most important degree was not your B.A. but your M.R.S.” -Ruth Bader Ginsburg
It is with great honor NCoC announces that Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, will participate in a keynote conversation at the 2010 National Conference on Citizenship.

Justice Ginsburg was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1993. She is the second female Justice, and first Jewish female Justice to serve in America’s highest court. Prior to joining the court, Justice Ginsburg was a tireless advocate for the equal citizenship status of women and men as a constitutional principle.

Through our Conference theme, “BIG Citizenship: Citizens as Catalysts and Innovators,” NCoC seeks to highlight citizen-driven movements, past and present, that transform communities and our nation. Not the least among these is the Women’s Suffrage Movement, which celebrates its 90th anniversary this year.

Registration is open. Reserve your spot at http://ncoc.net/register
